CHICAGO – May 21, 2002 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading software industry publisher and developer, today announced that hip-hop sensation Jurassic 5 and top heavy rock acts Dry Kill Logic and Adema will perform live at Midway’s booth #800 in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center for E3 2002, May 22-24. Each band has recorded original songs and music videos exclusively for some of Midway’s hottest game releases including NBA Ballers, MLB™ SlugFest® 20-03 and Mortal Kombat®: Deadly Alliance™.

“Midway is excited to be the first to have cutting edge bands perform in a live setting on the E3 show floor,” said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway. “The music of Jurassic 5, Adema and Dry Kill Logic packs a powerful punch to Midway’s hot new videogames, and we believe these live performances at E3 will provide a similar impact to our show presence.”

Jurassic 5 (Wednesday, May 22, 5:00pm)

Top Interscope Records’ act Jurassic 5, which recorded the theme song for NBA Ballers, an all-new adrenaline-style street basketball videogame, will bring its unique ‘flava’ of hip-hop to E3. Jurassic 5 was formed in 1993 in Los Angeles when rappers Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir, Mark 7even, and turntable maestros DJ Nu-Mark and DJ Cut Chemist came together from two separate crews (Rebels And Rhythm and Unity Committee). In December 1997, the group released its first EP, which sold more than 200,000 copies in the U.S. and U.K. Shortly after, they released “Concrete Schoolyard,” which provided the band with a surprise U.K. Top 40 single when it reached number 35 in November 1998. Jurassic 5 signed with Interscope Records and made their major label debut with the album titled “Quality Control” in June 2000 -- helping solidify their position as one of the seminal acts in hip-hop music today. In addition to their performance in Midway’s booth at E3, Jurassic 5 plans to take part in the “Smokin’ Grooves” tour scheduled for this summer.

NBA Ballers is in development for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft and the Nintendo GameCube™.

Adema (Thursday, May 23, 5:00pm)

Coming together in the same Central Valley breeding ground that spawned bands such as Korn and Videodrone, Adema, the most buzzed-about heavy rock sensation of the year, will perform at E3. The Arista Gold Recording act recently recorded a brand new track for Midway’s new hard-hitting fighting game, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, which is currently in development and scheduled to ship fall 2002 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy® Advance. Adema, which signed to Arista Records in 2001, combines hard driving heavy rock foundations, street sensibilities and melodic modern rock flourishes to create one of the most original sounds on the “nü metal” scene.

Dry Kill Logic (Friday, May 24, 12:00pm)

Roadrunner Records hard rockers, Dry Kill Logic, which recorded a “new millennium” rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" – titled “Riot at the Bat Rack” – for the all-new adrenaline-style console baseball videogame, MLB SlugFest 20-03, will bring its unique brand of heavy metal to Midway’s E3 booth. Formed in Westchester, NY, Dry Kill Logic owes much of its success to the musical influences of the gods of heavy metal – Pantera, Tool, King Diamond, Sepultura and Fear Factory. Dry Kill Logic signed to Roadrunner Records in spring of 2000 and soon after wrote and recorded their latest release, The Darker Side of Nonsense. MLB SlugFest 20-03 is currently in development and scheduled to ship summer 2002 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube, with the Game Boy Advance version to ship in fall 2002.
